The woman who gave me my first vintage dress.

One of the shows I went to when I was in nyc this summer. FUERZABRUTA was an amazing experience and the atmosphere was great. The stage was organic and all around the audience. It moved, it was above us at one point, behind, in front or next to us at another. The whole crowd danced to the music, while admiring the beauty of the dancers' movements. Here are some photos I took and a trailer of the show. If any of you get a chance, you should definitely go see it.

Before discovering Etsy, I used to sell on Ebay. Today, I got a message on Etsy and it was from a past customer from Ebay. She has found me! She also sent me a picture of her wearing the dress that she bought from me many months ago. The dress palette complimented so beautifully with that wall color and she looks absolutely adorable in it. Please send me pictures of yourself wearing dresses purchased from my store. I love seeing you guys happy and looking pretty in your new item. She also keeps a blog. I have gladly agreed to do a "Nine Questions to..." interview about my store. Stay tuned!

Winona Ryder wore this stunning vintage white beaded gown by Edward Sebesta in the Oscars 1994. It has left an impression on me since then. Last week's shopping, while rummaging through clothes and trying to calm my allergies to dust, I came across this mauve pink dress with an exquisitely crafted accordion pleated sleeve design. A closer look revealed the dress was designed by Edward Sebesta!

"And remember, the Oscars fall at an odd time on the fashion calendar, according to Rita Watnik, owner of Lily and Cie in Beverly Hills. "It comes right after the collections have shown, and rarely does a movie star look better in a dress than a model. Also, what's really great about vintage is that no one's seen it, nobody recognizes it." Watnick was the woman who heightened the vintage craze when she dressed Ryder for the 1994 Oscars in a long white beaded Edward Sebesta gown."

It's been a while. After a month and a bit of traveling and finishing all the piled up work from my vacation, I finally have some time to do some shopping for my store and update this blog. I found these amazing cowboy boots while I was in nyc. They are purple with multicolor woven leather strips design. I will definitely be wearing them a lot this winter. I got them in Marmalade Vintage (172 Ludlow St, New York NY 10002). Their clothes aren't too interesting but they have a nice shoes collection.
